Wellness Words
Volition

Team lesson coming your way. We love experiencing so we may share. 🔥
We are wishing everyone love and support for all your beautiful ‘whys.’ If you do not know your why, then we wish you those vibes specifically. 🙌🏻🔥
These weekly words have a dash of self reflection, accountability, and diplomatic flavors. Volition, to us, is choosing to acknowledge an emotion, feel, think, and keep going regardless of the circumstance. We choose calm rather than storm. Well, 98% of the time. At least, we are aware. 🤣
P.S. We are watching way too much British Baking Show to unwind too. You may see some trends.
So this may apply to any scenario but specifically those that are challenging. Uncomfortable. See there is a difference between feelings and emotions. Any of those scenarios where your body reacts in an uncomfortable way. Movement of internal organs. Heart racing. Palm sweating. Reactions to emotions. Feelings.
Definitely one of those feelings while the cake collapses that you curated for 4 hours. And everyone in the room hears about your failures via two really experienced and smart baking humans. Gut wrenching or comical?? We hope we laugh.
Now let’s add ‘emotions’ that usually cause those reactions. Fear. Anger. Sadness. Anxiety. Inadequacy.
These emotions are heavy. No doubt. But they are there to feel and nothing more. Now say that again. Fear. Anger. Sadness. Anxiety. Those emotions are there to feel and nothing more.
We have learned the difference between emotions and feelings because it helped us comprehend, process. And, helped to acknowledge so we react in a way that is empowering to us. Empowering to others. Light. Smiling.
Then we think of something or someone who makes us smile. Gratitude. And life goes on.
Cheers to the Oxford dictionary:
Volition: The faculty or power of using one’s will.
“I will always have the ability to have an emotion, feel, receive, and let go if it diminishes my power.” JAJ
As always, keep going. 🙌🏻🌱💜💪🏻🔥 Love and light. 💡
